Excited football fans...

Ian here...

Today we went to Chilis because they have the NFL Sunday Ticket from DirectTv--we got to watch the lions.  When we were there, we determined that there are 4 ways that people respond to good plays, one of which is horrid, and must be retired ASAP:

  1. Wooo-Ha
  2. F-Ya (insert bad word)
  3. Hell ya
  4. Yeeeeee-Haaaaaa
Ok, so you've probally determined that Yeeeeeee-Haaaaaa is not the correct way to respond to a play.

BTW, that was a Giants fan.

Jaycees

We have been going to Jaycees for a while now.  We are finally going to become "official" members.  It is a pretty cool group that does alot of community service projects, and also knows how to have fun!  Next week we are having a big garage sale, then going canoeing (we hear there are gators).

We are married!!

Hey everyone! We are back from our super-fast trip to MI for our wedding. It was so nice to get a break from the 95 degree weather, and see all of our family and "G-Rap" friends!

Our ceremony was beautiful, and simple! Thanks to Uncle Allan for the short ceremony, Kim for singing, Aunt Arlene for playing the piano with little direction, and a plethora of others for helping out! Eastern Ave. Christian Reformed Church recorded the ceremony on cassette tape (whats that?) but I converted it to MP3. The quality is no where near the DVD that Laura's uncles are creating; but it is a neat keep-sake. It can be listened to, and downloaded for free, here.

We have uploaded about 3,000 photos to Shutterfly--so far. If you visit www.shutterfly.com and use the username ianandlaura.belanger@gmail.com and password of malik, you can order what you wish, and have it delivered to your home!

Again, thank you to everyone that was so generous with their gifts, time and company.

We are about to leave FL for Michigan. It will be a 1,336 mile trip, and we want to make it in 20 hours! Wish us luck.

soccer mom???

OK Laura here, thought this was blog-worthy.

Today Ian installed the whole, "Tennis ball on a string so you don't crash into anything in the garage" contraption......

I know it has nothing to do with the fact that Ian wasn't able to open the door to his car today due to the fact that I parked too close to him.....

Either way, I guess that's how you know we're married! (or almost!!)

The cash tree...

Yesterday was our last contracted day---SUMMER VACATION! (Or, in our case, 21 days until the wedding!--oh man!)

Each year one the team members that Ian works with throws a little end-of-year BBQ at her house. It's great because Malik can come and run around, and everyone just relax. This is a day that I look forward to for a long time.

Earlier on Thursday, Laura was starting to feel the "countdown" and was frustrated that the party was during her "workout" time. She decided at lunch to not go, or go rather late. I was bummed, but knew that once Laura made up her mind--the decision was made.

I finished my long day of meetings, and scurried over to make my dentist appointment. Of course it was no normal appointment since Laura plays Bunco with those girls so they all wanted an update on the wedding. All I could think about was getting to the party because my Assistant Principal had been bugging me all week for a CD for a bachelorette party she was going to, and since I had forgotten it she agreed to meet me at the party at 4:30p--this was not working...

When we arrived, there were three or four cars there that we did not expect, like my Principals, and a few of our friends. But we just thought "that’s Connie, just inviting more people!"

Connie's husband walked us in to the pool house, and SURPRISE! Man, we were totally surprised! There were about 40 people there for us. The theme was "destination unknown" and there was tons of tropical decorations. Then there was the cash tree.

As if we have not been spoiled enough at our 1st shower, the theme for this was that people added cash to a tree (see the pic). All I can say is WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!

Thanks to everyone that came!
